Jean-Baptiste Leducq

Principal investigator

Assistant Professor of Microbiology in the Department of Plant Science at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences since 2022. My research focuses on a better understanding of the ecological, evolutionary and genomic processes involved in the adaptation of microorganisms to plants, particularly in the establishment of mutually beneficial relationships between bacteria and the phyllosphere (the aerial part of plants). The ultimate aim of my work is to use natural microorganisms as alternative and sustainable management methods in our agricultural practices. Alongside my research work, I teach microbiology at undergraduate level and bring my expertise in microbial ecology and evolution to postgraduate courses.
